From Collector For Collectors - how and why was this application created?

"I knew there had to be an easier and smarter way to do car collecting." - Ivor Turcin, Founder and CEO of Diecast Parking App.

It all started in the 1990s, growing up in Croatia. Like many kids, I had a hobby - but mine was an obsession. I collected diecast cars. Every model was a tiny masterpiece, and despite limited availability, I managed to build a collection of around 300 cars. My parents often brought back treasures from their travels, and each one felt like a dream come true.

But life happened. In my twenties, I sold my collection for some extra cash. What I didn’t expect was how that decision would change everything. Selling my cars connected me with a vibrant community of collectors. Their stories, their passion - it reignited something deep inside me.

So, I did what any true enthusiast would: I started collecting again.

In May 2016, I bought a blue Tesla Model S - a small but significant step back into the world I loved. From there, my collection grew to nearly 700 models. But with growth came a problem: managing it all.

I tried everything - Instagram, phone galleries, memory, Excel spreadsheets - but nothing worked the way I needed. It was messy, time-consuming, and frustrating. I couldn’t even remember which models I already owned. That’s when it hit me: why wasn’t there an app for collectors like me?

I searched everywhere, but nothing met my expectations. That’s when I made the decision that changed everything: I would create the solution myself.

Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to introduce Diecast Parking App - the app I wish I’d had from day one.
